One of the most famous and beautiful waterfalls in Pădurea Craiului, Cailor (Horse`s) waterfall is a tourist attraction located at the end of a path, through the forest, following the Boiului Valley upstream. The path marked with a red dot also reaches other destinations known to those who love nature, the view point on the Boiului stones or the Fugarilor cave.
Those who do not want to get tired climbing the left side of the valley, where the two objectives mentioned above are, can make their way back by returning to the beautiful meadow area on the edge of Lorău village. Along the Boiului Valley, in about 20 minutes, you reach the starting point of the route.
The Cailor (Horse`s) waterfall is formed by the waters of the Boiului Valley that fall over a rocky threshold from 7 meters high, to stop in two natural basins dug by streams. Bypassing the waterfall and following the path on the right slope, those eager for a little adventure can reach the second waterfall on the Boiului valley. Until there, crossing the area that the locals call “la Caduri”, hikers can still discover the ruins of an old water mill, glades with fruit trees and a few small pots.
The Cailor (Horse`s) waterfall is located on the Boiului Valley Circuit hiking trail, marked with a red dot.
