The local tradition says that the church, a historical monument in the village of Câmpani de Pomezeu, was built in 1651. It is certain that the current church, dedicated to the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, dates from the 18th century, being built with wood from an older place of worship.

Like many others in the area, this church originally belonged to the communities of two neighboring villages, Câmpani and Pomezeu.

In fact, in 1825, the inhabitants of Pomezeu were in conflict with their neighbors from Câmpani, accusing them of not wanting to return their church books and ornate bells, to the purchase of which they also contributed.

The door ornaments and the rope-shaped belt that surrounds the building are the most important element of folk art that can be admired here.

The place is located on the T3 cycle route, “Pădurea Craiului, all-inclusive“.
