Route description
The route starts from the Carpathia pension. After a short stretch on the asphalt, the route turns right, towards the Izvorului valley. After a rather steep climb through a rocky canyon you reach a smoother part. From this point the route follows the course of the stream. At the end of the valley we find a junction.
Here the trail running route continues to the left, with another section of sustained ascent. From the highest point of the first part of the route, the runners will turn left, bypassing a sheepfold and continuing their way on a slightly descending part. Up to the administrative limit of Bihor and Cluj counties, the route is marked by numerous ascents and descents, with various level differences.
After crossing an asphalt road, keeping the direction of the finish line, runners will climb a little, meeting the tourist markings blue dot and red stripe. From here, the trail running route follows, for a stretch of road, the one for mountain hiking. A view point, located nearby, offers tourists enchanting panoramas of Vlădeasa peak (1849 meters) and Remeţilor gorges. Before a curve, the running route separates from the one intended for hiking and, turning left, it goes towards the sheepfold and the temporary house, visible at a distance.
The route climbs for another kilometer, after which it begins to descend – abruptly and technically – on an abandoned forest road. In the valley, the route turns left. It continues on a smooth slope. At the end of the valley, near the building of the Remeţi Hydropower Complex (CHE Remeţi), the running route turns right. In a short time, the runners will arrive in the village of Remeţi, on the asphalt road (DJ 108). In the center of the village, the running route turns right again and continues, fot another 2 kilometers on asphalt, to the finish point.
